A preversão do literalismo

Acabo de ler a entrevista de Omar Bakri na Pública de Domingo. Acho que é um motivo de grande reflexão, até para que se perceba qual a base ideológica do fundamentalismo.

É importante recordar que houve e há radicais fundamentalistas cristãos. Por exemplo, o Ku Klux Klan, que ainda hoje existe e está activo algures no Mundo.

Aqui segue explicação do símbolo do KKK (uma cruz a arder) dada por um site, cujo endereço nem sequer divulgo para não ajudar a promover este absurdo.

O erro da Al Qaeda será o mesmo do KKK: uma errada concepção do papel da religião nas nossas vidas que faz com que a interpretação literal dos textos sagrados tenha sentido. O literalismo é para mim a grande causa dos fanatismos. Não é possível que se tenha de cultivar o ódio e a morte para se aceder à santidade. Ainda que os textos sagrados o digam, isso só é concebível num quadro cultural em que as imagens e as metáforas pertencem a um padrão de comunição. É pois evidente a necessidade de interpretar, procurando o espírito dos textos, e não reduzindo a sua essência à ilusão da letra.
